Little bit about me...
I grew up in the mid-west. My life was the same as most growing up. A few siblings, my dad worked and my mom stayed home with us kids. I was never educated on how to manage my money. I started mowing lawns when I was 10 to fuel my new hobby of working on my minibike. I eventually got that running and when I did, I sold it. I bought a moped, fixed that up and sold that...and so on. I have always been fascinated by money...mainly because I wanted to spend it. I was so good at spending it, I racked up thousands in credit card debt in my early twenties. My barista income wasn't covering my spending, so I tried a debt consolidation company...that was bad news... Sharing what I did with my parents, they helped me out with cleaning that debt off my plate. Great!
Freshly married, I moved to Austin. I kept up with my barista job until making a connection at Apple, and next up, I was in sales. Finally! We were making enough money to survive, take care of our new baby, and live a little. We modified our spending to the new salary. Savings? Naw.
Fast forward several years and what's changed? Nothing. I would always work more to cover any money needed. I tried and tried to implement plans and budgets, etc. But failed constantly.
That brings me to now...
My wife and I ended our marriage after thirteen years and now I am on my own, figuring it all out. What a journey!
So many things have changed! I have completely turned my life around both mentally and physically. I spend so much of my time talking about the things I have learned and am continuing to learn that I decided to share everything in hopes of helping YOU!
Cheers!
